Car's breaking down

Feels like my car's breaking down! I'm getting weird rattles in the cabin, and I have a very noticeable WHINE from the engine bay; I know others had this problem. I'm noticing a decrease in acceleration too...I FOUND dust in my throttle body!!! think this could be it? my rpms keep dropping close to 2000 randomly...
HELP

thanks,
ERIC

OH and I have a hard time starting up...it winds REALLY slowly then kicks in? bad starter? or just a bad battery...my cars sits outside while I'm at school....

weak starts are normal with the TL. Its the stupid ULEV systems trying to keep emissions low when starting the car. Some days it will start perfectly, other days it will struggle to start. As for the rattles, take it to the dealer. Also what were you doing digging around the throtle body, if it was for the air-intake make sure the filter is installed correctly along with the pipe and make sure the IAT sensor is firmly in place.

dirt in the throttle body and a vac type leak- I would go thru the CAI and make sure all the clamps are tight.

dirt in the throttle body... most likely the CAI was installed improperly. If an improperly installed CAI has been letting dirt and dust into the intake, your engine could be hosed.

for the whine in the engine bay...does it worsen when you turn side to side at all? does it sound like its coming from the power steering.

My car had this problem and i just got a new o ring for the joint inlet on the power steering and there has been no whine since.
