Car wont start in Park, will only start in Neutral
My 2007 Acura TL Type S is starting to have a few issues a couple of weeks ago, all in succession of course, and I have been able to get most of them resolved. This one I am having trouble figuring out though.
One morning I woke up to go to work and the car wouldn't start. When I turned the key, all of the lights and everything came on, but there was no crank or noise of any kind from the starter. The "Check Starting System" Warning flashed on my Dashboard, so I assumed it was the starter. I took an uber to work and decided to deal with it when I got home.
Called AAA to get a tow to Pep Boys. While I was waiting for the tow truck, I went on here to look up some possible solutions. Read that I should try to start the car in Neutral instead of Park. So I tried that, and it started right up! I cancelled the tow truck and drove it to Pep Boys to get the starting system checked.
They ran the full starting system diagnostic and determined that there was no issue with the starter, alternator or the battery. Then the car started right up once I left. The car seems to start fine in Park once it's warm, but only starts in Neutral when the engine is cold. I experienced the same issue again this morning, wouldn't start in Park, but would start in Neutral.
I'm not sure what it could be, maybe a fuse, Neutral Safety Switch, bad wire connections, Ignition Coil? Sorry for the long post, any suggestions? Or has anyone else experienced the same issue?

And if there is a cable linkage for that shifter, and I don't remember if there is, then I would try to adjust out the slack..

Car won’t start with new battery and new starter
I’ve experienced the exact same problem. Took my car to Acura and they said everything was fine. My car wouldn’t start again so I took it to my mechanic he said the auto start that I had installed was connected to the neutral switch and should be reinstalled correctly. So I went back to the Honda dealership and they said everything was ok and charged me for a new key fob. Now today the same problem. The car will not start but all lights come on. I put it in neutral and nothing. Install a brand new battery today and nothing. Please help! What is the problem?

Did you check all the fuses?
Other than that, I doubt anyone will be able to help unless they have a similar system, or know how your mod is wired into the factory starting system. But, in my novice opinion, the mod that you installed is likely Y'd into the starting circuit. And maybe the Y location is a "black box"? If the car does not start with your remote and it will not start with the Key, then I would remove that "black box" or the entire mod. Because it sounds defective if the car will not start with the remote or the key. I don't have my book handy to know what even the starting circuit looks like.
Also check the power going to the "black box" or whatever it is.. If power is going in but nothing coming out.. then the box must be bad. assuming all the fuses are ok.

by the way, don't rule out a bad starter.. Does it even click when you turn the key? If the starter is getting power, but not turning, it cold be bad starter.. Somehow you will need to test for power at the starter when you turn the key.
Also, if the auto start is connected to the neutral safety switch, that may not be a bad thing.. It just depends on how it is suppose to be connected. If the auto start has been working fine previously, then why would it make a difference just all of a sudden? From what I hear, The neutral safety switch just allows the car to be started only in Park or Neutral. So, it may not be a bad thing to be connected to it, but I do not know how the auto start is designed to work.
and you never know, it might be bad "Neutral safety switch"

Latent car nut

I would have the aftermarket remote-start wiring disconnected and see if the issue continues.
