car won't start?
hey guys,
i'm new here and was searching google to find what was wrong with my car and i found these forums.
i've done a lot of searching on the forums to make sure my question wasn't answered before but i'm not really sure if i have the same problem
i do have the rapid clicking noise whenever i try to start my car and everything inside my car (the lights, navi, and odometer) is dimmed. The navi screen would even flicker sometimes. Whenever i try to turn on my seat warmers, the lights get even dimmer.
And i tried to lock my car when the light was on in the car and it wouldn't lock.
Would you guys say its a dead battery? or near dead battery?
thanks

Well, when in doubt, check the simplest thing first-- if you jump start the car and it's fine, it's the battery.
Otherwise, check the battery cable connections at the battery and car ends.

Sure sounds like a bad battery or bad/corroded cable connections. FYI, the seat heaters draw a huge current, even on low. In fact, the owner's manual advises against using seat heat for extended time with the engine running at idle.

I think you might have misunderstood a little bit with the seat heaters....it is perfectly okay to drive around with them on (heck, that's what they are intended for). However, you don't want to leave your car sitting idle (like warming up) for extended periods of time with the seat heaters on because they do draw quite a bit of juice, and could drain the battery quickly.
