Yesterday I went out to move my car and when I shut it off it kind of shuttered. So I turned it on and off a few times and it did the same thing. After driving it around the block it shut off normally, very quick & quiet. Now this morning it's doing it again. You can actually feel the car shutter or shake from the engine. I can't figure out why it's all of a sudden having an issue when I shut the car off. It starts fine, has no problems. no lights on the dash are on, nothing. Any ideas?! This never happened before and I'm a little worried.

 

what year car, how many miles, how many owners?

Are you running 93 octane? when was the last time you did an oil change? I'm thinking clogged precat, vacuum leak, fouled spark plug. I'd run some fuel injector cleaner like Berryman's B-12 / Seafoam / Techroline. See if that helps.. then check for vacuum leaks. If those are negative then take it to Autozone and see if any codes pop up.. if you get any misfire codes I'd replace the plugs. Check your intake filter as well.. It could dirty & restricting warranting replacement.

 

your probably not letting the steam purge or coal burn out before shut off.
