Car locking on it own
Car locking on it own
So as the title says my doors have been locking on their own as well as my steps-dads. I have an '07 Tl Type S and he has an 03 Honda Accord. I was in the garage the other day to get something out of my car and noticed that my car locked randomly but thought I may have just accidentally hit the lock button, but today I was going to wash my car and left the key fob inside and unlocked it before I went outside and I did some stuff before actually going to open my door for something micro-fabric I just bought and the car was locked so I went back to unlock it and when I went back out to open the door I actually saw the door lock on its own( the key fob was still on the kitchen table and nobody else was home so it couldn't be a joke) Also, when I went to go get gas tonight I locked my car when I went it to pay then unlocked it when I got back out and while the gas was pumping the car again locked on its own. Like I said earlier my step dad's car has locked on its on before too, so what in the world could be going on??

But yeah, check the manual. You can change the programming somehow. My #2 fob does this as well, but not my #1. I rarely use #2, so I always forget to look into it further.
The doors will relock if they have been unlocked via remote and no door is opened in 30 or so seconds. My guess is that is what's going on. A problem could happen if you park the car, lock the car, and then decide to unlock the car (without opening a door). That will happen to me if I accidentally press the lock button instead of the trunk button.
My car has never locked itself after parking from a drive unless I do something with the fob afterwards. The locks are also designed not to lock when the key is in the ignition as well.
