Car Dead, Brakes Engaged??

Hi everyone, just looking for anyone who has experienced this problem....

Well the vehicles battery got drained within the garage and for some reason, I can't get it into neutral because the brake is engaged. Whenever i try to press on the brake, it can't go down any further because the car's brake is down as far as it can possibly go. Prior to the brakes being locked in this position, the brakes worked just fine so i don't know why it's doing this? The vehicle was lowered a couple thousand miles ago so i don't think anything has to do with the lowering...any thoughts???

Without benefit of my owners manual in front of me and not knowing what you drive we will go with common things to check

Lets start with full battery and do the brake lights work?
Were the parking brakes on - and maybe pushed down hard for a few months?
Does the park brake pedal do anything to try and release?
Assuming you looked under the pedal and nothing like a spring is laying on the carpet

If you have an auto trans- look on the right side of the shifter plate- see the little plug you can remove with pocketknife or small flatblade.
Some have been known to use their car key for this next part
Remove cover and stick screwdriver or ?? in the hole- push the Nuetral safety interlock manual release- if it goes into nuetral- then try the brake release again

If nuetral and still stuck- try rocking the car physically- put a block behind the wheel so if it comes loose it doesnt roll into the street

01tl4tl, Thanks for the response....here's what ended up happening...

So the car battery went completely dead so we called AAA and they sent someone to jump our vehicle. After jumping the brake began working like normal so thankfully it wasn't anything worse!

I think it is because...the brake was pump to many times when the car was off, until the brake could not go down any further. Usually, if this happen...u have to turn on the car and it will depress it. Since you had a dead battery...u couldnt depress it.

Try pumping the brake when ur car is off and you will get the same result. When u turn on the car and press the brake it should depress.
