So the other day I parked my car in a lot to go on a nice relaxing day on a party boat with some friends. I come back and now the door DOESNT OPEN!?! I need to roll down my windows and reach outside mydoor to open it from the outside. I thought maybe the cable came out so I took the door pannel off. It was not that either. It seems the cable has some extra slack in it and is just not getting pulled enough to engage the lock. This is slowly getting REALLY annoyying!

Is this something I can fix myself? Or does the Stealership need to fix this.

Any suggestions would be helpful!

Um try and open up your door panel and see if the hook that is attached to your inner handle is attached to the mechanism.

 

Yea....I tried that. Everything checks out ok. I have an appointment with the Stealership tomorrow....wonder what the price they pick out of a hat will be this time.

 

I'm having the same issue with my passenger door. I've removed the door panel and the cable is intact and connected. What did the dealership say or do to fix it?

 

check the actuator and the lock mechanism..

 

No idea.....I brought it in and like 20 minutes later it was fixed. I think somehow the little black thing in the door broke although it looked fine to me when I checked it out. They charged me for the diagnostic price so I ended up paying 90 but I just was too lazy to figure it out when I couldnt even open my own door
