Can you unlock your car when it's freezing outside?

Sometimes when I go to unlock my car using the key fob, it does not unlock. Actually, it unlocks for a split second, and then locks again. You have to time when you open the door just right or use the manual key to open it. In addition, one time when this was happening, I got into the car and tried to start the car and the alarm went off. Now, I've noticed the problem seems to creep up when it's very cold outside. Could something be freezing over and causing it to stick? I'm waiting to take it to the dealership when it's freezing outside and hopefully the problem is occurring.

What do you think? Thanks in advance!

I have noticed no difference no matter how cold it gets and it has gotten pretty cold up here in Wisconsin. Just explain the problem to the dealer as best you can and be prepared to take it back a few times if they can not duplicate the problem.
