Can you try something for me ?

I have some problem with acceleration. When i press the gaz pedal to the floor at 0 mph, when the car is hot it accelerate like a basic civic until 4500 rpm and all after seems normal acceleration.

When the car is cold but at good temp to lauch it, the acceleration is very fast

When the problem occur with or without the VSA i'm not able to make the wheels squeals. In the morning i m able without problem

At 20 kmph , about 12 mph, i put the gas pedal on the floor and almost no real acceleration. Can you try to do this and tell me if it's normal for a TL to do that ?

The car was in for 4 times for this problem, they cleaned the catalytic, change the ECU program twice

2005 TL AT

I always use 91 OCTAN fuel, i tried to change of brand and always the same problem.

What are your ideas on that, thank you

that's because your transmission is not dropping down to first. so basically, your car is accelerating from 20kph in 2nd gear. as far as cold vs warm accel., i think you think it feels like it picks up faster because of the engine running at a higher rpm when cold, thus more immediate acceleration. have you tried doing half throttle and then quickly into full throttle?

anyway, the only way to see if there's actually something wrong with your car, as far as acceleration is concerned, you should take your car to the track and get your 1/4 mile time.

Even in "L" position it occurs or in Manual sportshift. So i M sure i'm in first gear.

But you're right the feeling is like if you start in 2nd but i checked every time to be sure to be in first.

hmm.. well, "L" doesn't mean it's in 1st for sure. the only way to make sure it's in the 1st is to use SS mode... but you seem certain that there is a problem. have you tried testing a different 5AT TL at the dealership? like i said, it'll be best for you to make a trip to the track (which you should anyway, since it's fun), and check out the 1/4 mile time. if it's in high 15s or even in 16s, then you almost certainly have a problem... one which only the dealer must acknowledge & fix. if you can't find the time to go to a track, then definitely check out a different 5AT TL and compare. if you find that there's a noticeable difference, get a master tech to experience the two cars.

Hot engine = less power
Cold engine = more power

Cold engine = cold transmission, TCM will compensate to reduce wear.

They compare to an A SPEC, and said the A spec was a bit faster, but no solution to my problem

What i find, with your help it's that if i apply a 80% throttle it accelerate quicker, it's strange. I don't understand why. Full Throttle should give you a better start.

Thank you everybody

I remember my '97 Tahoe -- in the owner's manual, it stated that while cruising, apply 50% throttle to get a quicker response. At WOT, the engine bogged/hesitated a bit, then the transmission downshifted.

Who knows...
