A/C dead

Went to Toronto this week, (06 AT) used the a/c intermittently in which case worked fine. On my way back i had it running for about 2 hours, turned it off (by off i mean everything was off, including the fan).

When i felt the need for the A/C and turned it on NOTHING happened?! I tried adjusting fan speeds, and of all the fan speed levels, no air was being blown through the vents! I was on the highway at this point and couldn't do anything about it, luckily i was near home although it was boiling at a 32 degree celcius ( 63 farenheit).

Came home, turned the A/C on in my garage with the hood opened and observed that the whole system would come on for about a second including the fan by the front of the hood and then shut right off?! The water pump, the backfiring happening almost always if i redline 2nd to 3rd and no one knows wth that is, the CV joint noise is becoming a lot more prominent and with my eibach's on i'm going to have to bite the bullet when it gets worse and repair that, and now this?!

I am honestly dissappointed with the quality of this car, comparing it to my first car (99 Mercure Sable) believe it or not had no issues all the way upto 140 000km and still running free of problems in the hands of my cousin today! The car is barely reached 50 000 clicks...?! wth!

Well im thinking that it could be a bad blower motor transistor, because you say that it came on in your garage for a second. But you cannot really be to sure without some diag could also be other things such as the hvac control panel or blower motor going bad or a soft connection somewhere.

The same thing happened with my 2004 TL. I went to turn the fan on to speed two and noticed no air was blowing. I put my car in drive and as I began to accelerate the AC kicked back on. I guess pressing down the gas pedal gaining momentum the ac came back, and it fixed the problem. This has been 2 yrs ago and I've never experienced this since then.

I'm glad to hear you got your car fix. There is something terribly wrong with this statement,

"I am honestly dissappointed with the quality of this car, comparing it to my first car (99 Mercure Sable)"

All cars will have problems, you can't tell me that you 99 Sable didn't have any problems, I won't believe that. If you're freaking out over something as simple as the A/C going dead, then how will you act when things like o2 sensor goes out...or even brakes going bad...these are not major problems. To make matters worse, you compared the quality of a TL to a 99 Sable...you're lucky you didn't get banned for that one.

Well it turns out my guess was right, the blower motor transistor and resistor are the same thing just two different terms.

some one needs to get it right because a resistor and a transistor are very different creatures.
I am going to go with Transistor on this one.
