Question Burning smell from new TL-S

I've noticed a slight burning smell from my new TL-S with 250 miles on it. Can't figure out where it's coming from.

Could this be coatings from the engine parts burning off?

Thanks...

Not sure what it is. I noticed them same thing after I started pushing the car. At least you know other people had the same problem. I now have 6800 miles and the car is runnin' strong.

I think it's the breaking in of the brakes cuz thats where the smell seems to be comming form the strongest, i smelt that too with my TSX and TL-S. I have like 550 miles on it and the smell is practically gone.

Red face burning smell too!

Wow, i thought that this was only strange on my 2007 TLS! yeah, i even thought that i was burning my clutch or something.... Seems to come from the right front wheel area ...must be some sort of coating...but man it stinks!

Very scary on a new car with only 188 miles!

I haven't even started to push the car but at least you guys are saying that it is going to go away....right?

It's just the break-in oil that is on the engine, brake, and just about everything else. It'll burn off in due time. I sold new motorcycles that had the same thing and you could see the smoke and stink burning off the engine. No worries.

it could be a couple of things, most likely the clutch if it is manual transmission. Mine had that too.
