bubbled,sandy Painted ENGINE COVER PIECES?

I just painted my 2006 acura tl engine compartment peices. Alot of them have little bubbles and sand in them, it was kind of a rush job, but it was primed painted and cleared. Any quick fixes for this for a not so much DIYer?

let me know

I say go back over them with a lower grit sandpaper, maybe 320 grit.. then go back with a higher grit to smooth it all out. Then repaint

Yes wet sanding is what I meant, sorry lol I'd say by tomorrow or later this evening would probably be okay, since there is so much heat under the hood it should've helped it cure.

It's easy bro . Get a spray bottle or bowl of water, dip your paper in the water and start sanding. Or spray the surface you are sanding, you just don't want your sanding surface to get dry. It allows more of a finer finish as oppose to "dry sanding". I would focus on only the imperfections in the paint (bubbles etc).

Prior to the priming did you do any surface prep?

The sand and stuff came from my buddies garage. He just moved in so it was a mess in there. We kind of half assed it I guess. We primed scuff up the prime a bit the painted and cleared.

Those pieces are raw textured plastic. Not the easiest thing to paint correctly. You'll need some high build primer, among other things. Flat sand it after priming, then clean/prep for paint. Lay the clear on the heavy side. Basically going from a textured surface to a 100% smooth surface.

If you want the pieces to resemble the ext. body panels right after painting, better off taking it to a body shop.

If you didn't pre sand you can try a heat gun .. it could lift it all off.

Opps sorry .. missread it as engine cover.

If you wet sand make sure you have the facilities/ ability to polish out the sanding haze.
