Brand New CBI Bulbs Giving Me Trouble!!!!!

Just put in a set of BRAND NEW CBI bulbs from TRS.com lastnight, fired them up and at first everything was ok. Drove around for a little bit lastnight trying to break in the bulbs, parked it and this morning it all went down hill. Decided to drive around with my lights on so I can break them in faster, noticed the reflection off of ppl's car that my driver side headlight would be off, so I turn off my headlights, turn them on and they'd be fine. At the next light, same shit again...but now I noticed a bit of flickering and then they'd go off. Parked my car, had the lights on and I would tap my driver side headlight and they'd start flickering and off again. Really dissapointed though, paid $200 for these and I'm hoping its a loose connection, I'll be checking tomorrow. Think it could be a loose connection? I've never had any issues at all before with the OEM bulbs.

Sounds to me there could be a bad bulb. It happens. Swap the bulbs to different sides. If the the problem carries over to the passenger side then you know it's the bulb. Then you get in contact with TRS let them know of the problem (that's what a warranty's for) and they'll send you a new pair. But if it's the passenger light (now on the driver side) flickers just like the other bulb, then you can check the connectors (i'd check all connections before I start swapping bulbs), ignitor, ballast etc.

I had that happen when I tried Morimoto bulbs, on my passenger side it would go on for a minute or so, flicker then cut off. Put my old stock Osrams back in and no issues. I have some CBI's in the mail, hopefully they didn't have a bad batch go out, I'd be pissed if it got 2 sets of bad bulbs. Luck of the draw I guess.

could be ballast or igniter. You need to do some trouble shooting. Try swapping your previous old bulbs back in to see if the problem still occurs.

Wouldn't blame the bulbs so fast. A lot of things could be the issue, bad connection on the igniter to the bulb, ballast or igniter itself going bad. I don't see an OEM bulb being the issue.

Good news, it was a loose connection...the igniter was loose and was barely making any contact with the bulb, that explains the flickering.
