Brakes
the good ones are the expensive ones.
the ones i would recommend are the Duralast CMAX Gold ceramic brake pads. they have lifetime warranty on them and that includes wear and tear. so when you wear the CMAX pads down you can replace them with another set for FREE.
you are forced to buy another set when you wear down the original CMAX pads, but you then return the old worn out set and get a refund at full price.

If you have an AUTO TL (2004-2006) or Base (2007-2008) then you have regular brakes. The best things to do are:
1. Rotors (use slotted rotors) from a reputable company like racing brake.
2. Pads, you can use pads such as Racing Brakes ET500, Acura A-Spec pads, etc
3. Fluid flush -> Be sure to flush out the old brake fluid and use good stuff like DOT 4 or DOT 5.1 fluid.
If you want better brake feel, you can also upgrade to stainless steel braided brake lines as well.
I second the Duralast CMAX Gold (ceramic) pads. Sold exclusively at Autozone and it's actually quality if you want low/no dust + 6.5/10 stopping power. Pair it with Stoptech slotted/drilled rotors and you'll be set. No warping and lifetime pads.
^ most folks with the brembo brakes go for these (6spd Manual or TL-S models). Do they make the CMAX for autos?
i must warn everybody with brembos, the CMAX are not "track pads" by any means.
i have stoptech cross drilled/slotted rotors with amsoil dot 4 racing brake fluid in my car. i have made my cmax brake pads smoke twice now. the cmax pads are good for two back to back emergency stops from 100 mph to 50 mph. repeated hard use of these pads will result in massive thick smoke and extreme brake fade. do not ask me how i know about this.
the shop where i had my stuff installed on my car said "yeah that happens with cheap brake pads, you should get some hawks"
hawks cost more than the cmax brake pads, for those who dont know. and they are up to racing specifications
stopping power is good on the CMAX pads. just dont beat the shit out of them

Yeah, the ones for '04-'06 TL's with manual transmissions. They are Brembo calipers and yes they are black and have the word "Acura" cast into them.
