Brake Shimmy and clicking...

I notice the other day when I was coming down a pretty steep grade that when I was brakeing I noticed a shimmy in the steering wheel. Now I am hoping that my brakes are not warped and that it might only be an alignment problem, but I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on this matter. Has anyone else had this problem? It only happens when I am going down hill and not during regular driving. I know that Acura rotors have a tendency of warping fast, but I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I also noticed when I drive with my windows down (primarily when I first start driving) I can hear my brakes making a clicking noise for the first couple of miles or so....has anyone else noticed this?

Thanks ahead of time.

i sometimes find that if i brake on an uneven road, just before i come to a complete stop, the car either pulls to the left or right. will bring it into the dealer soon. i hear no noise like u stated

check tire pressures. make sure the vehicle has not been sitting w/ one side in the sun...

could there be a stone caught in the tire tread?

How long were you braking for? Were you using the brake to maintain your speed (i.e. riding your brakes), or doing a short, hard braking?

If you're able to duplicate this problem, after checking for tire pressure, then the rotors are probably warped... What makes you think your alignment is off?

As far as the clicking noise from the brakes, does this happen only for the first couple of miles? With or without braking?

EDIT: I just realized I'm asking more questions than your original post...

this happens to me as well if I'm hard braking or to put it better if say I'm doing 40 or so and the light is yellow but I have time to slow down (like a cop was at the intersection) and there is a definite vibration from the front brakes. It feels like when I had my ghetto car and I didn't fix the brakes because I was poor and was actually grinding the rotors with my worn out pads. I'm going to the dealer Thursday for my first oil change and trans fluid (2073 mi. so far, got it on 7-21-05 30 days ago).
