Body Seperation

Ive noticed that my rear bumper is no longer lining up with the rest of the body panels.

Here are a couple pics of each side.
Driver Side

Passanger Side

Any ideas on how to fix this? I called the local Acura dealership and they dont do any kind of body work so they say..and they also say that this is not covered under warranty. This is not the result of a accident, just wear on the car i guess.

Also my ASPEC kit is seperating from the body, seems like a simple fix with some thin double sided tape.

Again some pics of the problem.

Thanks for any help/info.

for the bumper, that should be covered by the factory 4 yr, 40k term. The bumper seperating can e caused by loose clips or loose screws. As for the a-spec kit, take the old acura tape off and put some new 3M doubls sided automotive grade tap and restick. There is a thread somewhere in the 3G garage to fix it that is very detailed.

Ill have to search around for that DIY about the aspec. As for the rear end...im gonna take it to get looked at a body shop to see if it is just loose...or if i did infact get bumped and it did nothing to the paint.

thanks again

MY WDP is doing the same thing. Called the dealer who installed the A-spec body kit(which was about 1 month ago) and she said they would make it right no matter what...we'll see. It's only the front spoiler that looks like crap.

Same thing happened here about a year after I had the kit installed. Took it back to the body shop and they showed me what holds the bumper kit on....it is terrible little plastic bars that the bumper mounts just snap back onto. They removed my bumper...tweaked those mount bars/tabs....and reinstalled it and it has held another year. It does appear that it is coming back lose again though....very slowly...hardly noticeable right now...but it will eventually need to be tweaked again. And the front....mine is doing the same thing. Retape it with new improved 3M tape as mentioned above.

My rear bumper on 07 TL-S is doing the same thing - a little bit of a gap and separation.

I took it to the dealer - South Coast Acura and asked for them to tighten it up. Their body shop said that is just the way the rear bumper is and said that when it gets warmer outside that it should expand and be more noticeable. I can push it back in but when I drive it pops back out. It is only on the driver side.

Needless to say that I was not happy with their answer and am curious as to what your dealer says. I looked at other cars on the lot and the samething... I can almost guarantee you that you were not hit. It is just a design flaw and am very suprised that they were not able to tighten it up.

my biggest problem is that i live 1 1/2hours away from a acrua dealership. im taking my tl into a honda dealership around here to have them look at it to see if i need to take it to the acura dealership or not.

Also took it to 2 different auto body shops..both of which said "we have no idea...good luck"
