Bent wheel due to bad road conditions, Advice...

Hey guys and girls,
I don't normally post a new thread unless its really important and try to avoid repeating what others have asked, but googled fail/old thread w/ no answer to my ?s

Anyways Ive noticed vibrations on my steering wheel after I bought my car which it didnt have prior(did a full long test drive) as I have been driving around town. Well it was so annoying I took it to a tire shop, tire rep. told me I had 1 bent wheel on front drivers side.

He told me that it was bent in the center not on the lip of the rim, so evidence to show the damage is hard to take photo evidence of.
My parents told me to make a claim on it against the city, in my city our roads are in horrible condition esp. the railroad track crossings.
Well my neighborhood is old and roads are completely run down with deep potholes, and I cant avoid some, I drive really slow and maneuver around them, but when I get caught up in my daily routine I run over them, so I'm planning to get estimates on how much to repair it and place the claim to city clerks.

HELP Here:
Problem is, you can describe using a small layout of where and how it happened, I do not know when it actually happened as in day and time. I just started noticing the vibrations.
Well just recently like last week the city patched up all major potholes as a quick fix and I didnt take any photos of my wheel or pothole.

Do I have a case I mean its evident the wheel is bent, it couldve happened at the many railroad crossings( mind you I went slow but the crossing plates are broken so driving slow over them still has a deep dip, few times go over them unaware due to my daily routine)
Should I even pursue a claim towards the city for the many potholes in my neighborhood or railroad crossings i pass over is the result of my bent wheel, or just let it go and buy a new one, thing is buying a new wheel is $400+ that is a bit too much for me right now.

Please help me sorry for the long thread. I just want to give you the whole story.

I can tell you now that it's going to be a longgggg process going after the state. Your better off replacing the wheel yourself. Ebay has them about $150ish new!

Can you please post links, I have checked multiple websites including Ebay, but for your est. price they are the normal alloy ones, and I need a chrome plated one, they run up $200+ for replicas/refurb and $300 new online

Are replica wheels good? I need a quick fix since I drive so much i need new tires in the coming weeks. Cnt do much with a bent wheel, it will throw off normal tread wear.

It will take some time to form thread wear on bent rims, I've been about 8k and my tires are still new with no deformity. I didn't know you had chrome rims, they might be mroe than, but the ebay ones I quoted, they are remanufactured I believe because they have honda stamped, but like I said, they aren't the chrome ones, were yours a-spec or something?

No mine are OEM chrome plated alloy wheels not aspec but I would want the aspec wheels later on. Ive checked and called junk yards and other websites that part out salvage cars, for my car and none have chrome wheels.
I dnt know how severe your bent wheel was if your saying its been 8k on your tires and not uneven deformities. i really do not want to take the chance of tires deforming or wearing differently, But I guess I could buy a replica wheel since they are cheaper, but i have my doubts on non OEM wheels.

Will chrome wheels peel from chrome plating, or are they heavy in weight. Ive tried to check on azine through google but they talk bout brands not their experience with replica oem wheels

Well, if your not trying to go aftermarket, you can have your wheels straighten but it does cost around $150ish.

I guess I can look into it and see if its even repairable since they are bent in the center of the wheel compared to normal bent lips.
Thanks for the help, hope I can get this squared away since fall school year will begin so it needs to be done before hand.
