Unhappy Bent Friggin' Rim...

I can't believe it...I've had my 08 for 3 months now, and just the past 2 weeks, I've noticed slight decreases in tire pressure in the F/R. Well, after the 2nd air fillup, I took her to the stealership and it was confirmed, the front right wheel is bent from the inside, It's only a couple of inches, and that justifies the air loss in the tire.

1. Is it possible to find a wheel shop that might be able to straighten it?
2. If not, where's a good place to find an OEM rim off an 08 besides Egay and Craigslist?

Thanks guys

do an internet search for wheel repair + your city name
If its slight- its easily fixed
They can do amazing things for cheap
Find one near you and send them email pics or drop by the shop for an estimate

formerly called junkyards- now called `automobile dismantling and recyclers`
are an option to find parts for many years if yours is not fixable

Don't worry, many of us were in the similar boat as you are in. My first week of getting the type S rims, I scratched both front ones within a week.

Thanks for the help. I spoke with a buddy of mine who knows a wheel shop. I just need him to bang out the rim a bit to get it straight enough so I don't lose any pressure

If that works for ya. Personally...I would take the time to get it fixed right or just buy a used one off the black market. They go on sale all the time on here. You just need to find somebody that will seperate em.

I know what you mean. Honestly, I spend so much time putting my track bike together, my car barely gets any attention. There's wheels hovering all over Ebay at deals, but honestly, since my car is a lease, do I not have any say whatsoever? I mean, these aren't forged mag or anything..WTF!?!?

It just drives me nuts, that a pothole can do that minimal damage, an throw the cars performance off completely. I noticed minimal vibration in the steering wheel driving back home tonight

Greco, did you get this quote from a NY stealership? My stealership in Queens told me it was 300+ per wheel. Do you have a number for the location you got the quote from?

Paid $300 from my dealership to replace a bent rim as well. Wish they would have quoted me $160 instead.

I've been hearing a wobbling sound and feeling vibration (especially on the highway) which seems like a result of bent rims. Has anyone experienced this before? Would appreciate any help on this. Thanks.

Did you hit a pothole? Many people have won claims from their local gov't just by pursuing it. I just ramped a rediculous curb at a local hospital, scratching 2 of my brand new wheels. I'm fighting it because it's a hazard, and I video taped 3 cars hitting it in 11 minutes.

Don't be a sucker. If a pothole that the city should have fixed damaged your vehicle, they are partly responsible.

I had a warped rim on my car. Too many pot holes in NYC. I ended up doing a swap for 80 bucks. It was a flat fix. The guy took my old rim + 60 or 80 dollars (I forgot) and gave me a good rim, OEM too.

UPDATE:

So I took the wheel in to Alloy Wheel Mobile Repair and they charged me $175 to straighten out the wheel. A little on the steep end. I couldve bought a new OEM wheel in the box for $235 shipped, but I didnt have time to wait for it. Oh well, next time, I'm working the suspension to swerve around these potholes.
