Belt squeak when it is damp. Should I be concerned?
On most damp mornings when there is condensation on surfaces, I get belt squeak for about 10 - 30 seconds, then the squeaking stops and doesn't return until the next damp morning. I haven't opened the hood to verify whether it is the serpentine belt (how many belts does the 3G TL have btw?), but the sound is the typical wet/loose belt squeak. Is this something which warrants immediate attention?
Thanks.
Thanks.
mine does it, but I don't believe it's the belt, I believe it's the idler going bad. I sprayed it down with some pentrating oil and haven't heard it in a while. I know I will have to replace it eventually.
