Battery problem 2004 TL with NO Navigation keep dying
I just bought the car about 5 months ago. The car was in excellent condition. Last week suddenly, the battery was dying. Since the car is not under Acura warranty, I decided to buy the new one since I think the Acura dealer will pro rate the battery instead of replacing with new one. The old Acura battery was totally dead.
So I went to Sams club and bought the Optima red top. The car started fine after that. One week later, this weekend, I can feel that the car does not start good anymore. I dont have Nav and I dont use the blue tooth. I used it every day except this Sunday.
Is there any solution for this or what might be the issue? Should I take it to the dealer? Any recall that I miss?
Do we have to charge the New Optima Red Top to get the full performance? I only drive it for 20 minutes after i put it in and drive it about 10 mins every day last week.
Thank you for your inputs.

Hey, I recently had a problem with my car battery dieing. I just replaced it today and so far all is good. I hope I won't have the same problem as you are having, as it seems that your alternator is not charging the battery.
Try to measure the voltage whlie the car is running. I think if its in the 14's volts that means the alternator is being charged. If its in the 12's that means its not getting charged. How many miles you got on your car?

Autozone tests it for free. However, you need to take the alternator out of the car for that, as I found out today when I stopped by to get my own alternator tested.
Probably autozone does a very complete test that measures the amperage that the alternator is able to output as well as the voltage. Voltage you can do yourself though, with a simple volt meter connected to the + and - battery terminals.
My car is 50k, so roughly same as yours, though mine is an 06. Its way too early for the alternator to be dieing, if you ask me it should go until 150k easily. You might also have a parasitic draw somewhere. Electrical problems are a royal pain in the ass to troubleshoot. They sometimes stymie even the pros.
Anyway, good luck with yours.
