the mechanic assumed that the alternator was bad cause the voltage on the battery was 12.6 but the car has never leave me stranded

It's the bluetooth going bad. See if you can use the HFL ( Bluetooth ). This is a pretty common issue many of us have experienced. The HFL can be disconnected without effecting anything else. If yours doesn't work, you can google HFL replacement and whatever yr the car is or check out the YouTube video. It's very easy and quick to do. 5 mins at the most. If you sit in the car after its off for a min you should be able to hear the HFL relay cycling.

^ This. Mine went bad and did this exact thing. When you try to activate the bluetooth on the MID it will say "Booting up" but never do anything else. If this happens, you can try resetting it by removing the fuse (can't remember which one, you'll have to look that up). If that doesn't fix it, it's likely toast.

I completely removed mine since I never use it. It's located in the upper dome light housing. Fixed the problem.

You say you can hear it cycling, but mine has been locked since i purchased it from the deal NOW my car is dead for the 2nd time and all the lights have been off....

Could this be a HFL problem, and if so would i hear the "cycling" considering its locked?

Sounds like HFL, I been reading a lot of the post because of the HFL draining battery. Mines just recently started doing that, I just took my redtop battery to autozone to charge hopefully HFL didnt mess up the battery since they said it charged for 9-10hrs and only 60% was charged and it reads it has 12.5Volts.
Was wondering if there is any recalls or do they replace it since its so common that its kinda annoying when I use my HFL here and there. Not trying to spend 700+ for a new one and ebay for $200, but who knows when those will start draining. -_-''
