Battery Died. Why?

Car sometimes takes a extra second to start but this time i got in the car and it started but made a weird noise. Turned car off and tried to put it back on and no go. Dead. I get a jump and i drive somewhere and leave car on and come back. Turn car off and back on and it takes 5 seconds to start. The next time it was dead.

I bought a new cell phone car charger today. It has been plugged in but it has a light and the light goes off when the car is off. I unplugged it now and plan on getting a jump and heading to the acura dealer tomorrow. What do you think?

Do you get the three dashes where your outside temp should display? If so, there is a TSB on it. If not, it may be that one of the electronic components in your vehicle is not going to sleep when you turn your car off. I had that problem on my 2006 and it was the handsfree unit. It would drain my battery. They replaced it and all is well now. BTW hope you car is still under warranty. The hands free unit was almost $500.

I seem to recall a thread within the last 2 months or so about some defective '04 batteries as well which were covered under the warranty; I don't recall if a TSB addressing batteries alone was sent out.
Car batteries usually last at least the 4-7 year battery warranty period, and most of mine have gone 2+ years beyond warranty, excepting one not-so-"DieHard."

similar thing happened to me on my 2k4. I left the trunk open for an hour the other day, battery died...weird, but jumped right off. Later, it started up multiple times for my wife with no issue. Later that day, we go to start it - dead..completely. Lights are so low they are flickering at 1/2 a candle's brightness. I measured it with a cheapy meter and it said 5volts. I trickle charged it for several hours with no change from the 5 volts. I finally gave up and I ended up just buying a new one

weird thing is, I don't use the HFL (it's set up, but never used) and I don't have Navi, which is what all the TSB's point to as the culprit for battery drain. I guess I had a bad battery if it wouldn't hold a charge at all.

The batteries that came in these cars suck. We change at lease 2-3 batteries a day at the shop. Contact the dealer, it should be covered under warranty.
