Battery died the other day and I'm clueless on what to do
Hi all,
So I was out of town and tried to start my car after leaving it outside for 6 days but it wouldn't start. All googling seemed to point towards a dead battery. So I jump started it with a friend's help and it worked. The car has been fine since then.
I'm positive I didn't leave any lights on. I always keep the lights on auto mode (although the manual says you shouldn't do that if you're not going to drive for a while). I've left it like that for up to two weeks at a time.
I'm kind of concerned because I take the car out often for hiking and don't want to get stuck in the middle of nowhere without help. Should I get the battery checked, or even replaced?
It's a 2008 Acura TL with around 72,000 miles on it. I'm the second owner.

Well if you fear getting stranded because of a dead battery then yes, get it checked or replaced.

Check your HFL unit. Common for them to go bad and not turn themselves off when the car is off, hence draining the battery. If it feels warm after the car's been off for a while that's your problem. Also, will say 'booting up' when you try to access thru the menu (although sometimes it is sporadically good/bad when starting to fail).
