has anyone had this problem? I had to get a new battery, now that shell that covers the battery wont fit, the negative prong is a lot further to the right then where the hole is on the cover. Do i need this shield/cover?

can't you loose the terminal clamp and adjust the cable? no you don't need that cover, it's there purely to hide ugly looking wires. it you can't make it fit, just get rid of it.

I'm not familiar with battery terms but the negative probe thing is much further to the right then the opening in that shield so it doesnt rest over it correctly, but cool thanks, wasn't sure if it was important or not.

The reason the cover wont fit is because the battery you bought is not the correct size. It wont hurt anything to use a different size battery, you just wont be able to use the cover.
