Base TL with Type S Rims...TPMS Light staying on...need help!
Hello all,
I have a base 2007 TL. I just put on some Type S rims on it. The TPMS light stays on. I put on new tires because the tread was real low. Thought that might take care of the issue, but the light still stays on. Do I just need new sensors? If I get new sensors, do i need the type s sensors or just the base? Or are they the same? Just need some help...
Thanks

The sensors are the same, they may need some time to charge up. Just drive the car and the sensors should charge enough to work. Mine showed crazy air pressure for the first 50 miles. I would look at the wheels to make sure the sensors are there.

When you select the tpms thing that shows you the pressure do they all have a readout ? Mine took a few miles to straighten themselves out after i put a new set of wheels on.

ok well heres the thing. I didnt replace the TPMS sensors when i put on the type S rims. Was I supposed to do that? I got my tires changed a few weeks ago. The light is still on...

When I bought my type-s rims they already had the tpms sensors installed when I bought my other rims they also came with the sensors. I would look to see if you have the sensors. They should have a metal filler.

I thought I'd bump this thread since I didn't quite find my answer with a search.
I am also going from Base TL rims to Type S ones. Is the swap as easy as asking the dealer to put my TPMS and tires from old old rims to my new ones? Could I have an independent place do it? Would they need to do anything to ensure the TPMS work after moving over?

Just have them switched over and if they don't damage a sensor while doing the work, you'll have no problems. Some recommend new seals, but for the most part they can be changed over without a problem.
