Park your car at home and take the bus.

Yeah, that's a stop-gap fix and it will eventually just stop working. If you're willing to take a gamble every time you park, then just bring a hammer and piece of pipe in your car and every time your car doesn't start, hope that someone can help you turn the key while you bang on the starter.

Do you have an idea of how often you should replace your starter?

You replace it when it experiences symptoms like you are experiencing

according to acura oem parts the starters are the same. I would assume this one would fit yours. Where is it being shipped to?

It's a gamble. You could make it a day or weeks. It's a pretty easy DIY. Mine started "clicking" two weeks ago and I just replaced it same day to avoid being stranded. Took me 45mins, literally.
