I've been noticing this happening recently, when I'm in first at 3500 rpm for example and I drop the gas pedal to the floor the car gets going but at around 4700-4900 RPM the wheels starts slipping and I get a lot of wheel hop, I take it up to just before redline do a quick shift and drop the clutch in 2nd and my wheels keep burning for a while through 2nd (more than I think is normal) but with little to none wheel hop, and the shift in 3rd is smooth, not even a chirp.

All that wheel spin and hopping at higher RPM could that be a sign of worn mounts?? never used to get this much wheel hop before

Also getting harder to launch, like 2500rpm launch I get wheel spin through the whole 1st gear?!?

Not sure what it is but something is not right

 

Keep trying, you should have them torn loose pretty soon.
Get a Corvette if you want a hotrod.

 

sounds like it could be motor mounts to me ... u prob will wanna go with stiffer motor mounts when u replace if u drive the car hard ... but that will be at the expense of the smooth feel of the car ...

 

You seem to have misunderstood what I'm saying here. I don't drive like this all the time but I do quarter mile runs every now and then at the track and street.

I know how to launch the car properly by now and know all about wheel hop, what I said was that RECENTLY it's been harder to launch with other symptoms and way more wheel hop and wheel spin than before, my guess was motor mounts and I wanted some opinions on the subject.

While you, come in to the thread and imply that I can't drive a FWD car and because of my improper launching I'm f**king up my mounts. Before you say to "keep trying" please take time to at least read the post. And no, I don't want a hotrod.
