NEED ADVICE: Torn driver seat leather

Hey all,

This site has been a real help to a new Acura owner and I have saved time by using it. Thanks for all the replies!

One of the issues I accepted when I bought my 2004 TL was that it had a 6-8" tear in the middle of the driver's seat. (Where the butt goes) This is perferated leather and I am wondering if there are any (somewhat) quick fixes... OR what the costs usually are to get it repaired/replaced.
Thanks!

your best bet is to take it to an upholstery shop and see what they can do for you ... i assume if they have to reupholster the bottom part of the seat rather than fix it, it will be somewhere in the 200ish range

Thanks... I will check around. I went to one place so far and they said they can't do the perferated seats. BTW, are those fog lights (in your photo) stock?

Call up the dealer and ask whom they use for upholstery repair. If your dealer doesn't cooperate call up Mercedes dealers, BMW dealers or Infiniti dealer. They have perforated leather and they must know someone who can repair it or redo the section.

If you do decide to get it done, have them also fix the bolsters that are probably squished and looks bad.

If you don't mind learning how to do it yourself...there's a site where you can buy genuine leather upholstery and installation kits. It's $899 for the backseat w/center armrest, 2 front seats, and center console. I currently have taupe but I'm changing all my seats to black.

www.leatherseats.com they are also on ebay
