Bad Headlight?

Today I noticed my driver side headlight was out. I park in an underground lot & noticed the lack of light reflecting off the wall where I park. I have the lights set to auto so they come on every morning when entering the lot. Could this be contributing to the early demise of the bulb?
My main question is will this be covered under warranty? My TL is less than a year old! Sucks.
Anyone have a similar story or is this just an isolated occurrence?

that sort of part is usually under the 12 monthy warranty-
if you can, drop by in person and talk with the service manager to see if anyone else had this problem and get yours in for a fix
Call acura and make a report of the problem- it opens a claim file for you and if needed a regional warranty rep will help you get it fixed- they only step in if the dealer fails to resolve an issue but filing the report can alert them to a potential problem
1-800-382-2238x5

Its possible that short few minutes use is lowering the life- but they should last a good 3-4 years of constant use. Acura made the auto setting... so it should not be damaging its parts!
For others- just drive with the lights ON all the time so they dont flash on and off
which is hard on HID bulbs

From what I understand about HID's is that how long they last is determined by how much you turn them on and off. With your TL being less than a year old, the dealer may replace it free. Good luck......

Called my dealer.
Good news: under warranty (4 year)
Bad news: they want me to leave it there for half day

No loaner. I'm feeling a little crappy about this. Why should I have to drive an unsafe car, risking a ticket due to my busy schedule. There is no way I can bring it in this week.
I'm ordering the service manual today to see how complicated this really is.

Now the light is on but it is very pinkish & not as bright as the other one. Looks funny from afar. Is the end near?

pinkish or redish usually means its about to burn out. changing the HID bulb is very easy. theres a DIY for chaning the bulb without taking the bumper off. just make sure not to touch the new bulb with your fingers. wear gloves. the oils from your fingers can destroy the bulb

Dealer replaced it, bad bulb. He stated he has never seen a HID go out in less than a year. Lucky me.
I was able to talk him into a loaner as they had to test the whole electrical system. 09 TSX. Fun car, quick steering until you hit the freeway. That 4 banger was working way too hard

I have read somewhere that the life of a xenon bulb depends on the number of times the gas is ignited, and not on the length of the period of the lights being on. The pinkish tint usually means a warning that the bulb will die out. I had both of my bulbs go out at different times. That's crazy that they wouldn't give you a loaner for leaving your car half a day. My dealership provides a loaner for anything that will take 2.5 hours to service.
