Vehicle: 2004 Acura TL NBP
Price
: $40.00 for full tank (not complaining about the gas price as I understand some places have it worse)
Average Miles: 320 miles. Mostly highway commute.
Average Speed (MPH): 65-70.
Gas Type: Shell Gas Station V-Power (Premium)
Note: Transitioning from BP Gas to Shell, I did notice I was getting slightly more miles then BP. (Not endorsing Shell Gas Station in any shape or form)

I picked up the TL yesterday and I averaged 27mpg...from NC to Florida. Stock Type S, with slightly off alignment. MUCH BETTER then the 14mpg in my F-150!

There are a million of these threads, search.

MPG is directly related to average MPH. I'm sure you mpg is fine.

I get about 300ish to the tank. I drive 75% city, 25% highway. If i take a nice long trip it's usually about 400ish to the tank. 28-31mpg on the highway, 20-25 around town.

I've only ever put 14.5-15.0 gal in the tank. I do believe it is about a 17gal? tank.

when i went from Valero to Shell, i did not notice it so much in the mileage, but more in the throttle response, with it being better

btw i had the upper intake off my engine the other day; looked down inside; and the back of the valves were clean along with where the fuel sprays onto the head itself inside the ports (mainly at the bottom area), it looked brand new to me, with being all shiny and such; so in all it does pay to pay for quality gas with there additional detergents and such

My car is a '04 TL auto and most of my driving is in the city. I'm averaging 20 mpg. I'm not very heavy-footed but that's still what I average. Car has approx. 80,000 km on it. Premium only.

Mileage per tank means nothing to me since I rarely take my tank below half. So MPG, while still not a prime consideration, is what I look at when reporting mileage. Around town, which means small cities and suburban country areas (though rather densely populated), I average about 24.3 MPG in the winter months (it is a little higher in the summer as expected). Highway comes in at around 29 MPG in the winter and about 30.3-5 in the summer.

My highest accurately recorded mileage was the first year I owned the car. During a work week in the summer which was work traffic, driving through a small citiy and residential areas, I managed 27.98 MPG.

The best I ever got on the highway was in September of '05 heading out for vacation with high temperatures (A/C was running the entire time) and moderately heavy traffic that was moving at a good pace. I recorded 33.94 MPG on the first leg of the trip (280 miles).

At the time of both of these checks, the car was rather new and still had the factory OEM Bridgestone EL-42 tires mounted.

ck your spark plug condition,,over 70kmiles its ready for new ngk Iridiums
dont believe the dealer did anything like air filter etc!!
ck tire pressures--cold is changing them

and of course my favorite solution to diagnose with - Seafoam in the gas and some thru the master vac port at TB, gets back to clean as a baseline

Dont forget the TB air plate needs cleaning!!
use ignition key to ON to open and close that part in a self test

If gen3 is anything like my gen2, the EGR ports in the intake manifold clog up every 75kmiles and must be removed to clean with solvent (carb cleaner) and wire coat hanger poking it out

a little pocket screw driver also helps to scrape out those passages too, especially on the cover plate

and the back of my valves are already clean , along with where the injector sprays on the head itself, kinda hard to get the intake runners clean themselves though , but even then only a thin layer of shit on them

btw: What up OLD F@CK

seafoam recommended by 01tl4tl
or i say BG's 44k

but yes the main thing is that when you put it in the gas tank it cleans the fuel system; but it also does help clean the back side of of the valves though, along with going through the combustion chamber and cleaning that up also

and iirc 165k is about 100k miles, doing a very rough estimate
