"Bad bushings" I'm told by my mechanic. Does that mean....

...my tires will wear unevenly? Is that also the reason I'm experiencing what i believe is 'torque steer' (even at low rpm's / when I'm not even getting heavy on the gas pedal)? the cr kind of pulls left nd right while i'm accelerating... I just bought the car a few weeks ago. 2004 with 157K miles....thanks

Bad front compliance bushings will cause your toe alignment to drift and those torque steer symptoms you mentioned. These bushings have been known to go bad before 50k let alone the 157k you have, I would have them changed.

At 157k and, more importantly, not knowing how the previous owner(s) drove the car....I recommend you take it to a good suspension shop. Have them go over it thoroughly. Replacing only 1 bad set of bushings will force other weak suspension components to fail sooner than not. You will save money in the long run having the shop replace several components at once.

Just my 2 cents

if your 157k car still have good bushings, then that's odd. not worth to replace unless they give you problems at this ago. mine were torn long time ago.

My original compliance bushings were found to be cracked at 11K miles! Its a very common issue on 3G TL's.
