Auto window up problems

So my driver side window was making terrible screeching noises when rolling down and never seemed to be in the track. The window always seemed to be loose. The other day I took it into the shop and had the regulator replaced which resolved the noise issue and "looseness" of the window. But now when i press auto up it rolls up all the way then back down about 4 inches. Only way to make my window to stay up is the hold the button all the way up. Any idea why this is so?

I was told and tried to reset the window button but couldn't find any clear or definite way to do this

^yeah post #7. But it's probably a copy from the manual on how they do the reset at the dealer. Notice his username.

Worth a try!

Sorry if it doesn't work.

I may just try to comprehend that post and try to see if that works...thanks for your help though!

If anybody else has had this problem or ideas how to solve it, it would be greatly appreciated

No luck with either reset method.

I attempted to bring it back to the shop and they took apart the door again and tried to see what the problem was. The only thing they could think of what may be the problem was how my window visor was pinching the top of the run channel which may cause it to come back down...yet I have had no problems with my other side which looks identical at the top of the channel.

The shop was very cooperative and tried calling to different acura dealers to try to find a solution but basically kept hitting dead ends. The only thing that seemed like a solution one guy said was that it was a timing problem, yet another said thats impossible since only one motor is in the regulator not two. I may try to bring it to a dealer when I go back to school in the fall since i don't live close to an Acura dealer and the Honda dealers were no help.

**When i brought it to the Honda dealer he tried a method in which after pushing the button the window would no longer move and he kept trying to pull the window up with his bare hands and pushing it back down pretty forcefully. He was the one who proceded to say the window was off track, and it has a timing issue. After i restarted the car the window worked again and I left**
