Auto Dome Light Feature Not Working

After searching through the related threads I wasn't able to find anyone that had a fix or was able to solve this problem and hope to get lucky enough to avoid going to the dealer. I bought my Type-S used a couple months ago. She's in great condition with minor cosmetic defects but what can you expect from a used car?? Anyway I noticed that my dome lights don't come on when in the auto position whenever I open the doors and unlock the car with the remote. They work manually as I tested all of them out, but never worked when in the auto position. I bought another used unit and it was the same thing leading me to believe it's either a short somewhere or a fuse that I can't seem to find faulty. Any one know what wire I can tap into to see if there are any power draws once I open the doors?

why not just throw a multimeter to the dome light itself and see if there's power?

You mean you replaced the roof light switch/console?

Here's the test procedure for it, just for confirmation it's not the problem (unlucky I imagine, but could happen)
