Audio volume suddenly seems awfully LOW

audio volume recently took a toll for the worst. with the same cd or music I usually play Im getting just about half of what it use to offer, also the bass is also reduced by about 50% like the mid's.

could I have of blown my mid amp / sub amp or sub itself?

btw the sub was cracklin the other day terribly but it went away for a day with reduced bass then the crackling sort of came back again.

thank you in advance!

Sounds like an amp(no pun). I had mine replaced and everything worked fine. It's down on the passenger side front closer to the floor.

Yep, my research has shown that these amps go bad quite easily. Reduced output is the number one sign of one going bad. All channels could be low, or in my case, just one side could be low. All points to the amp.

hmmm is there 1 amp powering the 7.1 or 2 amps

thank you kindly 1black / pbook.

so that one amp under the passenger seat powers all speakers/sub or is there going to be a 2nd amp for sub itself.

thanks again guys,

The amp is located in the passenger kick panel. Here is a video of how to remove it, it's funny cause the actually video was done by the company that repaired mine (just found vid by googling).

I sent mine to Carstereohelp.com and they repaired it for $125. No issues since. I did buy a used amp from another '04 prior to knowing of this company, but that died within weeks...

The place is located just outside of Orlando Fl.

Edit: 1 amp for all speakers & sub.

Nice! I was wondering the name of the company that repairs them. I'm going to send mine down soon. Thanks Slpr.
