ATF 3x3 Flush on a 232k milleage TL!
hi everyone, this is my first post, i have a tl 04 base 5at, my odo say 2326xx milles!, looking on the previous owner maintenance record, the last transmission oil change registered was 4years ago, and 120k milles aprox, idk if was 3x3 or 1x3 oil change, and idk if some missing record say newest tranny oil change, so , my question is , recommend do a 3x3 flush now?, or just replace 1x3 ,BTW the tranny works perfect don't have any issues , noises, etc, work very fine, but i think need "preventive" maintenance. what do you think???
regards

With that many miles on it, I would do a drain and fill and drive it around for a few hundred miles before doing another drain and refill. In this case you don't want to do a flush and introduce all new fluid all at once. The new detergents of the new fluid can break free or dislodge dirt or clutch material or varnish that might have built up in some areas and stick valves. Introducing the new fluid slowly means it will be diluted with old fluid and the detergents won't be as strong.
I'm going to guess this car has had a lot of freeway miles. If so, your mileage isn't anywhere nearly as bad as it sounds. The transmission isn't shifting when you're crusing down the freeway so no wear is occuring. You can easily have more wear in 30k miles of pure city stop and go driving than 100,000 miles on the freeway. I've counted the shifts on my drive to work and there are about 25 counting the downshifts and that's in 1.5 miles. On my trip to Vegas which is 280 miles, once I'm on the freeway I've gone the entire distance with only 4 shifts.
So don't do a flush, do a drain and fill, drive it around for a while and do another.
It looks like you're new here so search for the ATF fluid threads and the pressure switch threads. In order to make the transmission last for a long time, the 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches need to be changed every 2 years and use a Dextron III fluid or Dextron VI fluid, not the OEM fluid. These two things will drastically increase transmission life and improve the shifts.

your answer is very helpful thank you, yes im new here, i do it the simple 1x3 flush , and replace filter, this time, and look for buy the sensors, i'm think buy the honda oil dw-1, but what oil do you recommend???? "dextron 3 and 4" are the chemics and specs of the oil right?
Yes, but it is Dex-3 and Dex-6 actually. Dexron-VI = 6 not 4. Read one of the many other threads for ATF fluid brand recommendations, but I would recommend RedLine brand D4 (which is a Dex-III/ Dex-3 spec oil). And DW-1 is probably OK if you will change it regularly.
And it is actually Dexron not Dextron
