Anyone Have any Idea What The Problem Is?

I washed/clay barred/ and waxed my car saturday morning and then it sat in my garage until this morning. When i started the car and put it into reverse, there was a loud clunking noise, and the car would not reverse. I was stepping on the gas and it wouldnt move. I then put it in drive and it would not pull forward. Before anyone asks, the emergency brake was not on. I turned off the car and tried to back out again, and same thing, the car would not move. I did this two or three more times.

I called Acura roadside and they came and towed the car to my local Acura dealer. The tow truck driver said it looked like the emergency brake as on based on the way the right rear tire was dragging? weird because it is a front wheel drive car.

Needless to say, when we got to the dealer, the driver started it up, put it in drive and pulled it right off the truck?? WTF?? Of course, the tech at Acura said the car is fine, no problems, have a nice day. I left it anyways because there has to be something wrong right? Why would the car not move in my garage? Not to mention i felt like a complete dumb ass and wasted 2.5 hours this morning.

They called me from the dealer and said they cannot duplicate the problem and the car is not throwing any codes. Anyone have any idea what is going on here?

Your pads rusted to your disks. Usually you will get a loud pop and then the car will roll. The brakes will be noisy for the first few stops as the light rust gets worn off the disks. It's different from coming in from heavy rain since in that case everything's warm and the water dries up. I bet your car was cold when you washed it as were the pads and disks.

You had a very extreme case. Next time towel dry the car and take it for a quick spin. That will drive the majority of the water out from the brakes and the residual warmth will do the rest.

Did you have the e brake on while it was parked, then dropped the handle down. or disengaged the e brake before trying to move?

They rusted to the discs in two days? I would think that the force from the car trying to reverse and go forward three or four times in my garage would have separated the discs from the rotors?? Either way, thanks for the input, that is probably why the car is not throwing any codes and they cannot find anyting.

I've had the pads stick to the rotor after sitting, but not on the TL, it's on another car where the pads are applied and used as the e brake. After the car sits for quite some time they will pop when trying to move.

The TL rear pads have no pressure and aren't tight against the rotor, so they shouldn't stick at any time. I've also seen the rubber brake lines with an internal break that won't allow the fluid to return to the master cylinder, but they would certainly bleed back in 2 days.

Only item I can think of is to take a look at the rear pads to see if that side is showing uneven wear indicating a problem with the sliders, or lack of lubrication.
