The only reason that one side is popping up is that the surface was not properly prepped (Need to remove all wax, dirt and grease) before they installed it.

The only solution will be to remove it, remove all the 2 side tape. Get new tape from the local Autoparts store ( 3M makes it) and you want the one with the red peal-off, very sticky.

Get some wax remover at the same time and clean the surface at least 2 times as the stuff is quite volatile and will evaporate quickly. Do both the trunk surface were the lip will be installed and under the lip itself where the 2 way tape will be applied.

Apply the 2 way tape to the lip and then you can install it on your car.

Once installed, try to limit using your car for the next 24 hours which is the period it will take for the 2 way tape to reach maximum adhesion.

Best regards

I simply cleaned the mating area with some rubbing alcohol before attaching the spoiler. Seems to have worked after 4 months....

actually, the problem is with the adhesive, not neccesarily the install.

we have had a couple cars come back with the same problem. i myself am an accessorie tech at an acura dealer and have installed numerous spoilers, including the one on my TL. most likely if you take it back to the dealer, they will install a whole new spoiler rather than re-tape your existing one. thats actually how i got mine. i got one from a car that came back and had the one we took off sprayed to my color and i re-taped it.

How much lift is there? If I press on mine I can see some movement, but it is not flapping in breeze or anything. Just curious...
