Loving my new 08 TL, but when ever I start the car and reverse or turn the wheel after starting up, I hear a slight (low) clunking noise coming from the rear, esp when I'm in reverse and turning the wheel at the same time, seems to occur only when the car is cool or shortly after start, low speeds ETC. I do not believe it occurs after the car has been on for a while. Any opinions or advice? Thanks

Strut clunk maybe?

 

Any chance it's your mirror clunking when you shift into reverse? Mines starting to go out and makes a clunking sound while it's motoring down. Good luck.

Try letting someone else put it in reverse, and you stand outside and try to diagnose it..

 

Or if you're solo, just shift to reverse and listen for the noise and then shift back to neutral. Then take your power mirror controls and place them in the middle position (between right and left) and shift to reverse again. See if the sound still happens. Good luck, noises drive me bananas!!!!

 

But it does it in drive as well, and my mirrors have stopped going down in reverse!
