Which anti-freeze for 3rd gen TL?

Hey, I just bought an '05 TL a few months ago, and it didn't have an owner's manual. I tested the engine coolant and it doesn't have as much anti-freeze in it as I'd like, living in the winter wonderland of Utah. Can anyone tell me which kind of anti-freeze the manufacturer specifies? Thanks in advance!

P.S.-- Is anyone else extremely impressed by the handling characteristics this thing has in the snow? It's so stable and planted, it's no fun to drive unless you use the e-brake! Haha! Good thing Acura ditched the pedal and put a lever back in for this model, huh?

the acura coolant is 50/50

the online conversion calculator says -35C=-31F and -40C=-40F

so unless you live in siberia, i think you will be fine

Does the car need a specific kind of coolant anti-freeze though? I can test the mixture to figure out what temperature I'm covered too, but I need the specific kind of coolant anti-freeze this car requires, if there is such a thing. Thanks!

Yeah, just use OEM, paid 12 bucks for a gallon today when i went to pick up my S2000 oil filter What came out was a dark-blueish-greenish fluid which had me worried for a second there since im used to seeing green coolant all the time, but once i poured the Honda one it came out like that too, just not as dirty.

well.. lol.. not going to disagree with that.. but $12 for a gallon is pretty standard unless you get a sale on some cheap stuff.

8-9 bucks a gallon in the wally world coolant isle, and a few name brands do say approved for ACURA on its listed cars

I will say that with 7 years/80k miles on the coolant in my 01TL , drained based on age, the radiator was spotless and shiny inside
Thats something you dont see on most cars!-
There are special things in the honda/acura coolant- and they do seem to work very well.
I made my own 50/50 with name brand 100% coolant and super purified---beyond distilled water.
When the w/p gets done it will probably go back on Honda stuff- planning for this car to stay around a long long time
