Another one of those 52mph vibrations

Well, I figured I better take the car in since I needed an oil change. I have been noticing the common vibration from 50-55mph. I even printed out a copy of the tsb for that dampener to show the tech. Well, I dropped the car off, everything good so far, we'll see if they can fix it. Has anyone found anything else on the car that would cause this? I've read through many posts so I know all the common answers, but how about some uncommon ones?

Btw, they gave me a 09tsx loaner again. When o when will they finally give me a tl loaner?

So, they tell me that I have one bent wheel. Would this cause a vibration at those speeds only?

possibly. But I would think it would stay there or get worse at higher speeds

a bent rim would cause it at 40+ and it would get worse as you go faster. If you experience a vibration between 50-60 MPH in the whole car, its the motor. The 3G TL was known for it and it disappeared for a bit. I have an 04 TL that had this and acura installed some sort of damper on the engine cradle to stop it.

They told me that the tsb for the damper doesn't list my vin#. Does that mean that I would have to pay out of pocket for this?

its weird i had this in my 04 TL and no one could explain it. it went away when i put in stiffer mounts so my only guess is the hydrolic portion of the mount was failing cuz the vibration was only from 50-60mph

I too had this issue with my '04, and after repeated attempts at installing different sets of rim/tire combinations, they finally nailed it when they re-surfaced the rotors, adjusted the motor on the mounts, and installed a good set of rims and tires on. Only problem is, I don't know exactly what fixed it. But I do know it is 100% gone, and wasn't satisfied with the damper fix they do. That helped about 30-40% of the issue. But I think the motor mount adjustment worked for me. I can't duplicate the problem, so you should give those a try... Good luck my friend.

ask the dealer to check and neutralize the motor mounts, I forgot to add that.

bent rims CAN make the ride very shaky. my original set of A-spec (8.5") saw one too many potholes rushing to work that first summer of 05 and it would make me feel like the alignment was off, and i'd get vibrations all the way to the steering wheel.

my dealer kindly overcharged me (before i knew about AZ) and the problem went away.

-update- i replaced the bent rim that they said was causing my problems. most of the vibrations have gone away. there is still a slight vibration between 50-55, nothing too noticeable.. i guess everything can't be perfect. i'll live with it.

First time I heard about this motor mount adjustment. What do you possibly adjust? Hydraulic damper? How do you neutralize it? I have vibration around 80mph.
