Annoying noise when A/C is on?
I had my serpentine belt replaced a few weeks ago and the noise reduced a lot.
but now its back and strongly annoys me.
does anyone know what the issue is?

Hard to hear in the video/audio clip, but we had the belt tensioner replaced on our MDX as the bearings were going and it made all sorts of noise. Actually our two teenage girls noticed and asked what it was. No idea if it's the same thing as yours but am passing along as a possibility.

Sounds to me like it could be a noisy compressor. They can make abnormal noises if low on charge but more than likely it's on it's way out. When a compressor fails it can be ugly. It can puke its guts through all the ac lines, evaporator, condenser, receiver dreyer and they all might need replaced. I don't know how common that is on Hondas though. Hopefully it just locks up and squeals the belt until you turn ac off.
My advice to you, don't run your ac until you have someone look at it with a stethoscope to verify its from the compressor or not.

start by making sure you have a full charge, but i would put my money towards a bad tensioner since it wasn't making this noise until you swapped belts. a new belt may be stressing out a worn tensioner.

Hey OP, you figure out the problem with this? I know this is an old thread, but I'm having the same issue. I open the hood and look under and I do think it's the compressor. A/C kicks on, it makes the noise. It's actually starting to make that noise while in drive. Cold air is still blowing and it's something you don't notice or hear when inside the vehicle

bump:
having this issue in my 2G as well,
noticed on your youtube comments you said it was the serpentine bearings, but that rough description sounds too generic.
can anyone help me out and pinpoint which bearing this would be? is this the a/c clutch bearing?
thanks.
edit2: seems like the belt tensioner assembly (31170-P8F-A01) needs to be replaced. wouldn't surprise me at all since i'm at ~95k miles and i think i only had it replaced once (probably ~50k ish miles ago)

I had this same noise as well. I originally thought it was the A/C compressor going out but after some research threads were suggesting the belt tensioner was the problem. When the AC engages it adds strain to the belt and tensioner. I replaced the belt tensioner assembly which included the assembly, tensioner pulley, and idler pulley. No more noise for me. (06 TL)

OP did u figure it out. i am ordering a new tensioner. If I have the same issue you have it is intermittent when it kicks on for about 3 seconds and them goes away and comes back, squeel for 3 secs and then goes away as long as the AC is on correct? I am ordering a belt tensioner to hopefully remedy this issue as it is very annoying but only really heard if there is no radio on
