Am I doing something wrong? DRL LEDs

I got 120-SMD xenon white DRLs from jdmtoy for my Type-S and yesterday when I installed them one only seemed to light at like half power or brightness and the other didn't light at all. My oem bulbs work perfectly fine. I double and triple checked to make sure they were plugged in right. Any pointers? Did I just get a bad set and need to process an exchange? Thanks.

Did you only buy bulbs and nothing else? In order to run LED bulbs properly in the DRLs, you need a harness to run full power and resistors to eliminate the indicator on the dash. Do a search, this has been discussed quite thoroughly.

Check out vleds.com website. They have a harness that several members are using to run led drl's.....

you need to use a harness and resistor set to get the full power of the LEDs and eliminate the warning light. I have a kit from JLC lightings and it works perfectly. You have to make sure you ground it correctly as well, I've helped a few members on here with their grounding location otherwise only some of the LEDs light up

Is the kit above the right one? I just got one in from iJDMtoy but it doesn't look right to me.

i am not sure, the kit i got from JLC has 2 black boxes, i'm assuming those hold resistors. the kit you show looks like it will for sure get rid of the warning light i'm just not sure if it will allow full power to the LEDs.

if i were you i would email JLC (www.jlclightings.com) and ask if you can buy the kit without the LEDs (assuming you already have them). the total kit was 65 for me including 68 SMD LEDs so he may be able to get you the kit for about 30 or so. that way you know the kit will work.

The kit above was not the ones I ordered, my bad for not clarifying. Just confirmed and it has to be the one needed, if not I give up but the look of white drls is mint. Attempting my I install tomorrow.

oh got it got it didn't know you had ordered it. this kit is slightly different than mine. mine has a ground wire for each DRL socket. a lot of people are having issues cuz they don't choose the right spot to ground it, but you don't have a ground so that confuses me. if it doesn't work can you return the kit and get the JLC one?

yea i wouldn't give up on LEDs for the DRLs, it makes your car stand out and looks great.
