ALL Lights flashed like crazy - No power

Hey guys,

My sister went out with my TL and just called me and said while she was driving all the lights off the car turned off, but the engine still ran.

Then she stopped at a gas station; filled up, then tried to start the car and all the lights went crazy flashing (interior lights and exterior lights, reverse lights, etc) and then no power. Car didn't even crank.

Told her to pop open the hood and make sure all my connections for the accord fogs are good, and then she played around with them a little and then she tried to start the car and it worked.

Now everything is working fine, but do you guys know what the problem is?

Is it something with my Accord fog connections? Just yesterday I wired them up using butt connectors.

The Accord fog wiring is right by the negative terminal, so could it be possible a wire touched the terminal and made my car go nuts?

I'm scared as hell right now, and will check it out when she gets home tonight.

Thanks!

If the only thing you've changed is the fogs, then run all the wiring to see if anything came loose and/or might be shorting something. Make sure all the wires are properly protected, also.

I think for a few of my wire connections, I stripped off too much insulation, leaving exposed wire.

Maybe the exposed part of the wire touched another wire or the negative terminal?

ya that could do it. A little bit of heat shrink will fix that.
