Unhappy Alarm Doesn't Activate + No Beep Confirmation when locking doors

my 07 tl + nav doesn't beep when i lock the doors and the LED alarm indicator on the door does not blink also. it doesn't matter how many times i press the lock button on the fob the factory alarm wont activate. all the doors are locked and i have physically tried to open each door to confirm.

i have made sure that the beep notification in the MID settings is on.

________________

when i lock the doors i do get some kind of weird harsh noise. maybe its a bad door actuator or something?

________________

also, i bought the car used and it has been in a head-on collision involving the hood and fender. i was wondering maybe because of the accident, something got messed up and the system thinks the hood is still unlocked.

in the very last post of this thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ight=beep+lock

the op states that he/she "unplugged the hood switch". does anybody know how to unplug the hood switch?

if anybody has any insight, please help.

thanks.

sounds like a dead fuse. start under the hood and check each one, once you eliminate that, check under the steering column and make sure those fuses are good.

my car did this once, and i want to say i had a fried fuse under the hood...can't remember which one off the top of my head but i replaced it and good as new.

i've checked all fuses and there doesnt seem to be any blown ones by doing a visual check.

there were however, two missing fuses under the steering wheel. the two missing were number 31 and 33 in the picture. for some reason they also have parentheses around the amperage rating so maybe they are optional?

i checked only strictly fuses, not sure what the little boxes in the fuse box under the hood were.

any ideas what else could be the issue.

if you are not getting the beep then that means something is still open. I'd be willing to be it's the hood latch sensor.

Remove the switch and check for continuity with a multimeter.

worst case scenario you buy a new hood latch....best case scenario, the latch sensor is loose

took a look at the hood latch yesterday and nothing seems loose but i haven't been able to take a detail look because it was dark.

i dont mind buying a new latch as long as i know for sure that's the cause.

sucks because sometimes i would walk all the way back to my car just to make sure it's really locked.

in my mid it's set to beep.

doesn't make since if acura will only allow for one set of keys to activate the alarm though.

maybe with your keyfob you haven't set the beep in the mid?

if one remote allows it to beep, then the alarm is fine. It's your settings under customization on your set of keys.

Nothing is showing up on my mid so it's probably the hood latch. I'll keep you guys posted if I happen to fix it.
