2005 TL with 122k miles, bought car new, single owner, air bag light has been acting up for a couple years now but is now staying on. used to come on randomly and then shut off. not long ago i found if i connceted the seat belt before i started the car it would shut off like normal at start up. i also notice now when im driving the car I disconnect the seat belt the car does not sense that. I thought i saw something on this forum a ways back that it was a problem with the actual seat belt and the dealer would fix that under warranty, even though the car is very old now. Appreciate if anyone has info on this. TY !!!

 

do you have the owners manual? It will say lifetime or 10-year warranty on seatbelts. Most dealers make you pay a diagnostic fee and refund you once they see it's the lifetime warranty.

 

thanks for the reply, the manual says "Seat Belt Limited Warranty - a seat belt that fails to function properly is covered for the useful life of the vehicle". Time to deal with the dealer.
