After a heavily modded weekend, CEL P145C and P0497 CODES!?!?! Please Help

hey everybody... so i did a bunch of stuff to my baby over the weekend and i think shes a little mad at me... for what, i have no idea... the mods performed were:

1. Transmission Pressure Sensors
2. Intake Resenator Removal (the box behind the bumper, not the exhaust resenator)
3. Front and Back Swaybars
4. Front and back camber kits
5. (also removed the yellow sticker crap on the fogs finally lol but im pretty sure that didnt have anything to do with it... i think)

Oh, my car is a 08 base model 5at (3 switches)... with 45k purchased like 3-4 months ago...

so first my car was saying the gas cap was loose. i took it off n i kinda heard a slight pop? anyways, i put it back on and the light was still on. then the check engine light went on... i took it to the lube spot across the street n they plugged it up for me and it read the same two codes twice... totaling 4 codes...

P145C - Manufacturere Control Auxiliary Emission controls
P0497 - Evap emission low purge flow fault?

(i think thats what they said, the techs handwritting is kinda crazy lookin haha)

i got it reset, and the same thing happened again... first the gas cap (no irregular pop this time tho) which didnt go off, then the check engine light throwing those two codes two times...

before i go get a full diagnostic and have to withstand the butt pillagin' from the dealership, i was wondering if this happened to anyone. i dont know if its coincidence that the codes came up from something unrelated or i need to check my connections some where when i was taking apart/putting everything back together... i really appreaciate any helpful insight anyone could provide...
i did perform a search in the general and problems sections for 3gtl and didnt find anything but if there's a thread floating around that i couldnt find in my search, id apprecite the link (minus the bashing please) thanks again everyone and i really appreciate your time and help!!!

p0497 most likely triggered the other code. Looks like a lengthy diagnosis. If theyre confident in their repair and it doesn't fix it then make then repair the next one on them.

update... since i couldnt find any useful info or remediation steps with the codes, i thougth to maybe search for the gas cap loose message and WA-WA-WE-WA... looks like a common problem (ive only had the car 4 months and havent browsed everything yet)...

QUESTION!! - if my gas cap loose warning is the first thing to come on after the reset, then it throws the 2 codes mentioned above, and i believe the gascap message disappears, has this happened to anyone else? or do you just get a gas cap message that goes off, or stays on without any engine codes?

some helpful links i found on that search for the loose gas cap:

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=676858

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=675212

http://www..org/forums/showthread.ph...hlight=tighten

http://motegi.vtec.net/forums/one-me...sage_id=485057

it seems as though one of the fixes besides a new gas cap or having your prayers answered and the som'bich just turns off, the EVAP canister purge valve (P/N: 36162-rvd-j01) is an easy fix and takes "literally 8 mins" and 100-150 bucks.

since i found out this is a closed loop system, i'm going to recheck everything aroudn the intake under the hood to make sure everything was properly reinstalled after removal of the airbox to get to the transmission sensor (i have a 08 base).

i can rule out the resenator mod right? there wasnt anything electrical on on it as i only cut off the resenator leaving the tube from the airbox to the resenator, and removing the resenator and tubing from the resenator to the front of the car where the air is collected... this air volume increase wouldnt have anything to do with it right? would a new air filter help the cause (will probably do anyways for maintenance purposes since it is a little bit dirty)

are the two codes typical when doing a cold air intake mod, which is what i did pretty much? any insight will be greatly appreciated guys!! thanks!!!

What error message code did you receive to change this Part. Was it P145 and P0497?

Welcome to the forums.

We would rather you post your problem only once, so I deleted the other 4 posts you made. One should be enough to get you a reply.

I have the same problem and message codes with my car. Do you know what causes this and what part should be replaced? Thanks.

OK Sorry about that. Since 4 posts had the same problem was hoping that one of them will answer my question. It looks like no one mentions what codes they had to begin with. Thanks.

Update: I had the same Tighten Gas Cap and then 2 engine codes P145c and P0497. Installed a new Value Purge Control Solegnoid (#36162-RDV-J01) and the check engine light went out without erasing the codes. Thanks for all the great advice.

I am having this same issue on my 2006 TL. First the "Tighten Gas Cap" it would come and go then the P0497 code. I have seen some people say just replace the gas cap from Acura first. Has that worked for anyone? A new Value Purge Control Solenoid (#36162-RDV-J01) is pretty expensive.

Yeah, that's the fix though. Buy it, replace, and you're set

Cars are an expensive thing to maintain unfortunately

Plus it can be had for around $100 online. $100 is hardly an expensive fix.

Well I took your advice thoiboi and got the part. It was pretty easy to replace once I located the part behind the air intake on the right side of the engine. Drove the car about 30 miles to dinner tonight and after when I started the car the code had cleared! Thanks everyone.

One last thing on this code and the Tighten Gas Cap issue. The low purge flow is from the purge value. The gas cap is a separate issue. I also bought a new gas cap while I was at Acura for $23 even though the Tighten Gas Cap only comes on once and a while. My filler pipe has a couple of small nicks on it that somebody said could cause this gas cap message. If it happens again I may have to get that repaired.

Hate to break it to ya bud, but the new PCV would fix the tighten gas cap light. It's a notorious issue on our cars. You didn't need the new gas cap but if it gave you some peace of mind then great!

I bet if you put the old gas cap back on, the light /message will not come on either.

thoiboi, yes I suspected that as well..I did not install the new gas cap as part of my test. The tighten gas cap message has not returned. Most likely I will return the new cap. Thanks!
