Hi guys,
I did a search and didn't find much about this problem. I have a 2007 TL-S ...and the other day I was switching through the cd's kind of fast and I got the MECH ERROR message displayed, after I waited a while everything was working fine. Then yesterday when I picked a CD it would display DISC FORMAT and spit it out. It did this for all 6 discs inside that i've been listening to before so i'm sure they work. If I put the disc back in it just gives me the message again and spits it out. Any ideas what this could be or how I can fix it?

 

Have you tried another disc in that slot?

 

Yes i've tried a bunch of different discs, including original ones and I get the same error and it comes right out

Yup, that CD player is toast. Mine did the same thing on my 07' TLS, the dealer replaced it under warranty. I'm afraid now to even use the CD player because the factory warranty has expired.

 

the best thing you can do is to get isimple from ebay or from amazon it cost around 100 $.. connect any ipod or iphone and play music from it while the device charges the battery at the same time

 

I have an 08 TL, is it hard to hook up the isimple interface...with a name like that I see nightmare.

 

I just hit this!! Wtf, my hfl died last week and now my disc reader?? Is this the period of all things falling apart?! Is there a diy for this?
