Acura Switchblade Key

I have a 2005 acura TL I lost my extra key I was wondering if acura would make a Switchblade key for 05? And how much.

nope, you have to buy a milled key like before and have it cut and programed.

really? ive been wanting to get the switchblade for my 02.. they cant cut the key and program the transponder? so im stuck with the fob where the lock and unlock icon fades off huh?

Dont worry the Switchblade buttons wear off as well

really? i thought they were engraved in..guess i never noticed when i had the RDX loaner lol

They are engraved, its more the silver part that is rubbing away. Had them a little over a year, and noticed it on the one I use most

could someone post a pic of the key blank that comes on the switchblade key next to an 04-06 key? I think this would help a lot of people visually understand why it can't be done.

Does anyone know if the switchblade key will work on my 95 accord? i know the original doesnt have a transpoder but if i were to get the key cut the same as my 95 accord original will it still work?

no, you 95 will most likely have a different alarm system and the unlock/lock buttons will not be recongnized.

im planning to retro fit my alarm system in to it somehow. but i was wondering if the switchblade key will still work

The switchblade will work if you retrofit the following:
Laser cut key cylinders in igntion/glove box/doors or Milled Keys to your accord key
Alarm module retrofit from 2004-2008 TL
Immobilizer retrofit from 2004-2008 TL (type V)

The switch blade keys are lazer cut and the '06 and older are blade cut

that is correct. But now you can get the milled ones for 100 dollars, look on the main page for the thread.
