Acura 2004 TL not starting
Hi ,
my Acura won’t start, driving one day and it just shut off. The lights all come on and the engine turns over but doesn’t start. I have spark, and fuel to the intake . I have plenty of fuel before it goes into the intake and goes to the fuel rail, injectors..I have eliminated spark, and I know I’m getting fuel so my question ... should I automatically assume that it’s the timing belt, as far as I can see the belt isn’t broken and it is still intact. Any info or troubleshooting I should do before assuming it’s the timing belt would be appreciated. Thank you

You have spark, fuel, and air....that mostly leaves compression as the next culprit to investigate. Compression check possibly next? Otherwise I guess it is removing the covers and doing a closer look at the timing belt, tensioner, and cams.

Yes, compression is next , i was just going to check the fuel pressure regulator, before I moved to compression , but I couldn’t find it , unless it’s in the fuel pump? Do you know where is located ?

I had the exact same problem a couple of years ago. Turned out to be the + battery cable. At this age, it could easily be corroded internally where you can't see. That would be the next thing I'd try and replace. A relatively inexpensive fix!

Battery may also be low and not holding enough charge so car can't fully turn over. Happened to me a couple months ago. But after a period of time trying to turn it over I drained battery and got clicking. However, don't thunk you have that issue or not sure how many times you relatedly tried turning it over.
