Ack help! what did i do...

oh geez, i was fiddling around with the trunk light and when i finally get the housing loose, i took out the bulb. When i put it back in, it doesnt light back up. BUT thats not the main problem. While i was fiddling around in there, i noticed this thing on top that you can pull. So i pulled it and nothing noticeable happened, but now when i try to use my remote, the car doesnt respond at all... what did i do? what was that thing? how do i fix this? help please!

You could have pulled a wire connector loose, or blown a fuse. Maybe by rubbing a wire on some sharp metal edge.

The thing on top that you can pull is probably the emergency trunk release, in case someone gets locked in the trunk. This wouldn't have anything to do with the trunk light or the remote not working.

So if i did mess up a fuse, how do i fix it? geez who would've thought that touching some trunk light bulb would screw the whole remote system O_O

Do i have to take it in to the dealership?

One thing is these types of bulbs only light up one way, try turning it around and it might work. They are one way connectors but they fit in either way.

haha i tried that, the bulb is not my main concern right now. My whole remote system is dead and none of the interior lights work. Even my homelink system is dead right now... I couldnt even enter my own gated community

Please can anyone help me? Should i go ahead and make an appointment with my dealership?

haha, I love it! A 17 year old with his own $35,000 car locked out of his gated community!! Did you call Mommy or Daddy to let you in? Where's BoltJames when you need him??

I'm sorry, but that's just too funny not to comment on. That's what I call poetic justice!!!

OK, I'm done having fun at your expense. I'm with Ron A. Chances are that you shorted out a circuit that also feeds the relays for the remote. Check the under dash fuse #8 (20A). (Page 22-300 of the service manual). If that's blown, then your problem is probably solved. On that same circuit is the Multiplex Integrated Control Unit. I don't know what it does, but it may have something to do with the remote/homelink. Good luck!

Ouch.. thanks for the help but whats with the condescending attitude? Actually yeah i borrowed my mom's van to go in... is that really so funny?

Geez, why do people think its okay to treat ppl with disrespect just because they are younger? I've seen some of the posts of the younger members and sometimes I also think "ugh" but geez... I didnt even post anything stupid.. I'm just asking for some help here.

Thanks for the help, but next time you post something like that, think about who really sounds more mature..

Important note! If that circuit is blown, you have no tail lights...

Auto stores like Kragens sell fuse testers. No need to yank all your fuses out to check if blown. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help everyone. I did test both the tail and brake lights and thankfully they do work. I'm at 7200 miles right now, and its not that big of a problem (just somewhat of a nuisance) so i'll ask the acura guys to fix it for me when i go in for my 7500 mile checkup along with a few other issues.

Thanks again everyone! Still loving this forum!
